Payment is due at the close of each session unless otherwise arranged. Payments may be made via
personal check or credit card (Master Card or Visa). Please make checks payable to Stephanie
Burchell, PhD. At the end of each month client's will be provided with a receipt documenting all
charges, and payments.
Currently, Dr Burchell is not registered as an in-network provider for any health insurance company.
That being said, and depending on your provider, marriage counseling services can qualify as
out-of-network mental health services. It is important to note, that Dr Burchell does not personally
submit insurance claims for payment. However, at the end of each month clients are provided with a
receipt of payment which can be submitted to your respective provider for reimbursement. It is up the
insurance company as to whether they pay for services provided by a licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist Associate (LMFTA). It is your responsibility to know the type of mental health coverage you
carry, and the limits of that coverage.
Appointments & Cancellations:
Appointments for marriage counseling can be made by calling Stephanie Burchell between the
hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. To cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 24
hours in advance of your appointment. You will be charged for late cancellations and missed
appointments, and you may lose your appointment time.
Most clients will attend marriage counseling weekly. However, the frequency and duration of
counseling depends on a variety of issues. Extended sessions lasting longer than 50 minutes must
be scheduled and agreed upon by the client and therapist before services are rendered. The
following lists the typical lengths of sessions, and related fees. Please note, the initial intake
session, including all assessment materials and procedures is scheduled for 80 minutes.
